Akinwunmi Ambode, a former Lagos State governor, has issued a warning: insecurity in Nigeria won’t stop unless Nigerians band together.
At the 2024 Leadership Colloquium and Award presented by the Akinjide Adeosun Foundation, Ambode lectured on the topic of “Economic Asphyxiation – The Wisdom of Authentic Leaders.”

The colloquium took place on Monday at Alliance Francaise in Ikoyi, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Ambode said that President Bola Tinubu was not to blame for the nation’s current economic woes.

He exhorted Nigerians to be patriotic about their nation and to avoid placing blame.

..”The main problem is that we’re even sick of putting up with our problems. We now have a decision-maker who is President Tinubu himself,” he declared.
The former governor stated that Nigerians need to think creatively to solve the problems the nation has, but he also said that the people’s representatives in Nigeria needed to support them.
“You have to take a stance in front of them and let them know you support them in this challenge. You have to be sympathetic to them.Genuine leadership is more about having emotional intelligence and being able to relate to followers’ frustrations. What is the surrounding situation?
He remarked, “The problem is that we can’t afford to play propaganda because we keep saying something isn’t bad even though it is.
